Oranžovozelená kuchyň / Orange and green kitchen

Oonaballoona wrote in her blog about her decorating of living room. I commented it, writing that we have our kitchen walls painted orange, with some green furniture. In consequence of this, she expressed her desire to paint her kitchen orange and green, too. I promised her to post some photos as an inspiration for her, so here they are.

Okno - krásné velké okno - vede, bohužel, do chodby, takže 1) musíme v něm mít závěs, aby nás sousedi neokukovali, 2) v kuchyni je tudíž zákonitě málo světla.
The window - a beautifully huge window - leads, unfortunatelly, to the corridor of the house, so 1) we have to have curtains in it, in order not to be spied on by our neighbours and 2) there's, by a law of nature, not much light in the kitchen. Just by the way, the kitchen is also sort of a bathroom, because there's also a bathtub in it. I didn't take a photo of it, there's nothing interesting on it, just a white bathtub with white tiles. The house is about hundred years old, and the flat is a miniflat, so I guess that's the reason for the bathtub in kitchen...

No, a pak už se to jenom hromadilo.
But that was off topic. I wanted to write that originally the kitchen had been painted white, with terribly dirty white and red curtains in the window, which, all together and with the lack of light, looked ugly. So my sister's then-rommate and her father grabbed brushes and created this wonderful warm shade of orange. Then my sister and the roommate grabbed brushes together and painted four old chairs green. And, well, then it just kept coming. Now I can proudly announce that we have a beautifully colour-matched kitchen. However, I have to admit not so proudly that I did almost nothing for the cause.

I'll end with our wonderful noticeboard... which is probably the only place in the kitchen I did something for. That is, I added some postcards.

Sorry, this is for the Czechs only...

of course you did something, you painted!  i LOVE that shade of orange.  our kitchen is entirely white and it drives me sort of insane.  i've tried to place colorful objects in it, but now i am jealous... i see myself at the oops! section very soon....

Great, I want to see your new kitchen! :D

Yes, kitchen IS the place where everyone ends up hanging. Also at home (this is our flat when we're at university, so now I actually have two homes). It's the place that serves also as dining room in both cases (I didn't take a photo of the table, because it was covered with stuff), so you can imagine that...

That note is a note brother of said roommate wrote, long time ago; it says (on the bottom) "Evolution of beer" and goes from a Prague brand of beer, through Riga brand of kvass (that is, some traditional sort of lemonade, which is, I think, made in similar way to beer, but without alcohol... My sister used to keep a bottle from it, because she liked the bottle), to Brno brand of beer. Claiming that the Prague brand is excellent, "Rigas kvass klasiskais is not to be drunk, but you can smell" and "Starobrno - do not even smell". Sort of a provocation, because he's from Prague.
