Náhrdelník a náramky

30. května 2008 v 10:38 | Marmota |  Drátování
Náramky jsem vytvořila už před dvěma lety a tehdy jsem začala tvořit i náhrdelník:
I made the bracelets two years ago and at that time I started making also the necklace:

Ale trvalo mi to dlouho, protože mě nebavilo zbavovat drát bužírky, a tak jsem náhrdelník dodělala až dneska:
It took me a long time to finish it, until today, because taking the wire out of its plastic cover was really boring. But here it is now:

Oonaballoona tagged me

18. května 2008 v 15:27 | Marmota |  O mně / About me
(No, a teď mi povězte, jak se tomuhle říká česky...)
Oonaballoona tagged me with this:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.
Normally, the nearest book when I'm sitting at computer is an atlas I left on the window for a reason (the reason being my laziness). On page 123 the index starts; and the sixth, seventh and eighth entries are "Abaja, Abakan, Abariringa". Sounds entertaining, huh?
That's why I deliberately left my Bible at the computer today after coming from the church.
"If it is a person between the ages of five and twenty, set the value of a male at twenty shekels and of a female at ten shekels. If it is a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels of silver and that of a female at three shekels of silver. If it is a person sixty years old or more, set the value of a male at fifteen shekels and of a female at ten shekels."
Not much better. (No, it's not selling to slavery, but I'm not able to explain what it really is, because I don't understand it...)
It resembles those scary stories about ministers who on Sunday morning still didn't know what they're going to preach on.
Hm... what about the New Testament?
"Aeneas, Peter said to him, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and tidy up your mat. Immediately Aeneas got up."
A bit more hopeful.
I'm not tagging anyone, because nobody is reading me; and those who are have already done this anyway...
Abych nezůstala bez obrázku... Výrobek nějakých dětí, honem zachycený mobilem. Docela inspirativní. PET lahev proměněná v raketu Apolo 12. (I s tím jedním "l", myslím.) / Not to be without a picture... Some children's creation, captured quickly on my mobile phone. Quite inspirative. A PET bottle turned into space rocket Apolo 12. (Including the one "l", I think.)

Čelenky do vlasů / Headbands

9. května 2008 v 8:29 | Marmota |  Šití / Sewing
Ti, kdo mě znají z BurdaStyle, už asi dávno vědí, že mám ráda látkové čelenky do vlasů, a to natolik, že jsem si vytvořila vlastní střih (což koneckonců není vůbec těžké).
Už jsem jich vyrobila docela dost.
Those who know me from BurdaStyle probably already know that I like fabric headbands, so much that I made a pattern for myself. (After all, it's really easy.)
I already made quite a lot of them.
The first one was this one, from a fabric about 36 years old, it was a remnant of fabric a dress had been sewn from, I got the dress (together with the fabric), from mom of a friend of mine (because it was a bit too loose for my friend); I graduated from Grammar School in that dress. (What an ugly long sentence!)
Nemám lepší fotku... ale aspoň trochu vidíte i ty šaty. A taky celou mě. / I don't have a better photo... at least you see a bit of that dress, too. And the whole of me.

The next one was the first of those I made from a necktie. (I buy them in thrift stores.) This necktie was so beautiful, and pure silk in addition, that I bought it, thinking I'd find this or that use for it. When I ripped off the seams, it turned out the wrong side was also very beautiful, so I thought it would be a pity not to make use of it and it ended up as a reversible headband.

Pokud si pamatuju, následovala další kravata, kterou jsem tentokrát dostala zadarmo, a čelenka má za úkol ladit s mým "jahodovým" svetrem. / If I remember right, the next one was another necktie, I got it for free this time, and the headband's duty is to match my "strawberry" sweater.

No, a tenhle týden jsem vyrobila další oboustrannou čelenku, opět (částečně) kravatovou.
Well, and this week I made another reversible headband, again (partly) necktie-ish. This time the necktie fabric was really, really beautiful, I'd love to have enough of it for a summer dress... thin silk print, oh dear. I had to back it with iron-on interfacing, because thin bias cut silk is probably the worst material to sew from... The other fabric is some blend, my guess is cotton and polyester, long time ago mum made an anorack for my sister from it (not the best material for an anorack, honestly, but it was a nice one.)

I've already cut fabric for another headband and I think there are many more to come...
