Oonaballoona tagged me

18. května 2008 v 15:27 | Marmota |  O mně / About me
(No, a teď mi povězte, jak se tomuhle říká česky...)
Oonaballoona tagged me with this:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.
Normally, the nearest book when I'm sitting at computer is an atlas I left on the window for a reason (the reason being my laziness). On page 123 the index starts; and the sixth, seventh and eighth entries are "Abaja, Abakan, Abariringa". Sounds entertaining, huh?
That's why I deliberately left my Bible at the computer today after coming from the church.
"If it is a person between the ages of five and twenty, set the value of a male at twenty shekels and of a female at ten shekels. If it is a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels of silver and that of a female at three shekels of silver. If it is a person sixty years old or more, set the value of a male at fifteen shekels and of a female at ten shekels."
Not much better. (No, it's not selling to slavery, but I'm not able to explain what it really is, because I don't understand it...)
It resembles those scary stories about ministers who on Sunday morning still didn't know what they're going to preach on.
Hm... what about the New Testament?
"Aeneas, Peter said to him, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and tidy up your mat. Immediately Aeneas got up."
A bit more hopeful.
I'm not tagging anyone, because nobody is reading me; and those who are have already done this anyway...
Abych nezůstala bez obrázku... Výrobek nějakých dětí, honem zachycený mobilem. Docela inspirativní. PET lahev proměněná v raketu Apolo 12. (I s tím jedním "l", myslím.) / Not to be without a picture... Some children's creation, captured quickly on my mobile phone. Quite inspirative. A PET bottle turned into space rocket Apolo 12. (Including the one "l", I think.)

hana, that is FREAKY.  seriously, didn't turn out as nonsense at all.

i was actually the first altar "girl" in my hometown, who knows, maybe in the US, and the most of the fathers in the (roman catholic) church were dead set against it.  it was the head nun (and my folks) that helped me succeed.  that said, i was the worst altar attendant in the history of the business.  they would have been right to ask less sheckels for me.

Geri, do you? Because I do, too, at yours. :-)

Oona - it's much more interesting for you than for me, then. I'm Evangelistic; and I know virtually nothing about these sections of the Old Testament...

that's probably for the best!!!  the old testament is mostly gloom and doom (from what i can remember)...

Yes Hana I do!

And my flatmate was studying for an old testament exam recently - it is not only gloom and doom, but surprisingly feisty violent.

As far as me and the Old Testament are concerened, I know: 1) the obligatory stories of Abraham, Joseph, Moses, king David and the likes of them, 2) some Psalms, mostly in the rhymed versions from our songbook, 3) some sections of the Prophets, generally those that keep being read over and over in church, 4) the Song of Songs, because I read that one for school, and 5) other parts here and there, depending on my fancy and on mere chance (like having to read it in church). Oh yes, and the first, let's say eleven chapters of Genesis in more or less detail, because I had to read the first five for school and it turned out we were actually expected to know more of it...

And now tell me why I was writing down all this...
